In 2 hours the death toll from the Tornado outbreak yesterday went from 282 to 295. It is the Top Story on Al-Jazeera English too.

The death toll from this will most likely pass that of the Super Outbreak in 1974, which killed 315-330 people. And that’s not counting the additional dead from the Arkansas event earlier, which puts the total death toll at 299.

That’s not even counting combined damage. St. Louis suffered an EF3-EF4 through the northern edge of the city (around the airport), Tuscaloosa got crushed, and Birmingham took a nasty lick. This may be the costliest tornado event of all time.
