Yes, they report what’s being said.
And they report what the other side responds.
With no editorializing about it (except by the editorial staff, or the investigative reporters).

Well, at least that was the way it was taught to me when I was in journalism school; and it’s the way my dad operated. Things are obviously different now.

Scientists find a new fossil that they say is important for writing evolutionary history. Creationists claim that the fossil proves their case that evolution is a lie. A real reporter:

1. Will show that he has no bias and will report what both sides say;

2. Will show his bias in favor scientific rather than kooky claims and will report what the scientists say without sullying his report with creationist claims, thus escaping the false balance in reporting.

Which of the two?
