Exactly. When doing a story about Harry Potter’s influence on kid’s literacy, there’s no need to include the claim from nutjobs that Harry Potter leads children to satanism.

When reporting on the death of US army member, there is no need to include the Phelp’s clan’s opinion that he died because he was an evil gay-loving sinful bastard and God hated him.

When reporting on a geological discovery, there isn’t a need to note that young earth creationists think the world is only 6000 years old.

And if someone reports a story about young earth creationists trying to get their beliefs entered into education, it is not only okay but ethically required of a reporter to note that those beliefs have no backing in science, and that the pseudoscience used to support those beliefs is fundamentally flawed.
