Though stolen valour is not a crime (the law was struck down as unconstitutional), there are plenty of people who claim service they did not do (Sen. Mark Kirk for example).

Since no one was apparently present for said jerk’s note, all we can say about the person is he (or she?) is a jerk, nothing more.
