Imagine being a reporter on cosmology science in the early 1960’s. The well respected steady state theory was about to fall but no one knew that for sure yet. The new technology was poorly understood at first. We know the ending to this story, but how it was dealt with circa 1960 to 1970 is pretty illustrative from pre cable media days. Back in the day of the steady hand at the anchor desk ala Walter Cronkite.
