Indeed. Reports should (or at least may) also get a second opinion from the _scientific_ critics of the theories/findings. Like, “Dr. X: Ida is one of the missing links! Dr. Y: Nuh-uh.”. Provided both Drs. are legitimate scientists.

It’s easy enough, unfortunately, to find examples of “legitimate scientists” being dead wrong, with unpleasant consequences.
