The difference between Petty and the Chicks is that Petty has decades more in the business with loads of pull and goodwill with the fan base, which, unlike with the Chicks, is spread wide and deep.

Seems like it’s Petty’s turn to not back down, as he sang…and I don’t think he will or should.

I just wish he had made the request without having this a big deal.
