I have an appointment with Family services next week, applying for emergency aid. I have put this off for a long time, because I’m ashamed, but the situation is not getting any better.

About 13 years ago my husband lost his job, we had no savings and had just paid all our bills so there was no extra money for food. We got emergency aid and were on food stamps for about 3 months.
I’ve never forgotten how grateful I was or how cruel some people could be, but the gals at the local DHS were wonderful.
It happens and the help is there for a reason….
