Looting and burning are not analogous to a sit-in, James. The people staging sit-ins were very careful to be not be insulting or violent. The rioter’s behavior is much closer to the white mob in Birmingham, Alabama who pulled Freedom Riders out of a bus station and beat them half to death.

So I’m pointing out that while indeed supporting the London Rioters would be an albatross around the modern Democratic party’s neck, how “easy” did us siding with those criminals in the civil rights era make it for conservatives to “defeat us”
