The whole notion of coastal elites is bunk. It’s an effort to claim that rugged individualism and frontier folk are more like the American ideal than someone living in NYC metro or Miami or Boston. More people live in urban areas - because that’s where the jobs are. And this is accelerating.

ah yes. The rugged individualist frontier folk whose great-grandparents got 160 acres for free from the federal government, before that same federal government sent troops to remove the people who used to live on that land, and built railroads so the rugged individualists could get their crops to market.
