A Barbaric Honor Killing in Gaza (Update: JPost Error - Video is from Iraq)

An absolutely sickening story of barbarism from Hamas’ Islamic paradise in Gaza: Caught on tape: How a 16-year-old girl was lynched in Gaza.

UPDATE at 9/29/07 3:04:31 pm:

Well, it’s certainly an evil, barbaric video, but it looks like someone has misled Khaled Abu Toameh on this one; it seems to be an honor killing that took place in Iraq several months ago: YouTube - kurden kurdistan - kurds stoning girl stoned to death.

UPDATE at 9/29/07 3:15:43 pm:

Here’s the LGF post about this killing, from May 2007: Honor Killing in Kurdistan.

UPDATE at 9/29/07 6:15:10 pm:

The Jerusalem Post has removed the article, and zombie received the following interesting note from the author:

Thanks, but it appears we were the victims of a hoax. the film was taken in Iraq, not Gaza. we have been misled deliberately…we have removed the story..apologies!

This was probably part of the ongoing Fatah-Hamas propaganda war, with the added benefit to Fatah of embarrassing the Jerusalem Post.

At reddit.com, they know who to blame—the Zionist conspiracy to make Muslims look bad: Israeli newspaper republished grisly Kurdish honor killing video falsely claiming it was Palestinians in Gaza.

As if it’s necessary to fabricate news to do that.

Not the first time a Zionist news channel has distorted news against Muslims.

What I can’t get over is that the author of the piece even spoke to eyewitnesses of this “event”:

“Eyewitnesses told The Jerusalem Post that many of those who participated in the lynch were Hamas members and relatives of the girl.”

Not the only inaccuracy, the article also credits the picture to a Jewish photographer. Even so, the story is a deliberate fabrication.

The reason is simple, the kind of story only appeals to racist Zionists and confirms their bigoted beliefs. Found this on Google:

It is clearly a deliberate fabrication somewhere along the lines (either the author himself or the “eyewitnesses” he supposedly spoke too), although the story did make clear that the picture was come the cell phone video, it didn’t claim that the photographer went out into the field.

This story needs to get wider coverage beyond just a reddit post. It’s the eyewitness aspect of things that gets me. Who were these eyewitnesses?

I saved a copy of the original story as it was on the jpost.com website if anyone if wants an original copy.

Fine use of the 30 billion we gave them!

And by the way, in case you were wondering where reddit.com stands on things like this, I’ve now registered there twice—and both times they’ve deleted my account with no explanation.

UPDATE at 9/29/07 10:02:26 pm:

We’ve now received confirmation that this story was concocted by the “moderate” Fatah to discredit the “extreme” Hamas. Fatah is preying on the mainstream media’s desire to promote them as “moderates.”

The State Department and President Bush are living in a fantasyland if they think supporting Fatah will lead to peace; there is no difference between these two corrupt Islamist thugocracies.
