Somebody missed the outcome of the midterm election. Short version: Republicans won.
But “American Pride” is really just ticked off because John Boehner and Mitch McConnell did their jobs and got the budget passed instead of shutting down the government over Obama’s Immigration EO. And because Trey Gowdy used the December meeting of the Select Committee on the Benghazi attack focused on improving embassy security and showed more interest in possible problems with the under-construction embassy in London than in going after Obama and Hillary Clinton for “treason”.
What we have here is a wingnut who is pissed off because Congressional leaders were doing what they are supposed to do. To such an attitude, there can be only one reply:

From that article:
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his government on Wednesday to rein in rising vodka prices, as he battles to preserve his popularity amid an aggravating economic crisis. Putin told a meeting with government officials and regional governors that expensive vodka prices encourage the production of bootleg spirits, which carry greater risks to people’s health than legally produced alcohol.
Russia is facing its worst economic crisis since 1998, when the country devalued the ruble and defaulted on its debt. Putin’s popularity is partly based on his reputation for providing prosperity and stability.
“The overshoot of vodka prices leads only to increasing consumption of bootleg (spirits),” said Putin, who is known for promoting a healthy lifestyle. “I think the relevant structures (government bodies) should think of that,” he added.
Putin’s right about the economics on this issue, but he’s got no way around the larger economic problems Russia is facing. Just the fact he’s employing price controls is the sign of a serious problem.

63 | BeachDem Dec 25, 2014 2:26:30pm |
So, my usual Dec. 25th activity was getting together with my neighbor/close friend, after she’d done a shift as a nurse, for food and libations.
Except for one year, when her loony daughter’s baby-daddy was going out of town to his cousin’s without her, so I cooked dinner for loony daughter and baby. Except, baby-daddy’s cousin had a “hold my beer and watch this” moment a few days before Christmas and shot his buddy, so baby-daddy came to my house as well. Loony daughter and baby-daddy proceeded to get rip-roaring drunk and when my friend, the nurse, came home, she threw baby-daddy out of her house and I had to let him stay with me, because I feared he was far too drunk to drive.
Anyhoo—sadly, my friend died suddenly last year, right before Christmas, and loony daughter (who I adore, but she is not, shall we say, the most responsible person on earth) and her little girl moved into my friend’s place (baby-daddy and loony daughter are no longer together—thank dog.)
So, she asked me to spend Christmas with them this year, which, in actuality, involves going to her place at 7 pm, after they’ve gone wherever the hell they’re going before that (and, being the punctual person she is, will probably be more like 8:30 or 9:00.) She was going to cook a ham, which has now morphed into cranberry meatloaf?!
I am making wild mushroom bread pudding, and have made a strawberry layer cake that started out being a yule log, but I had grave concerns about my ability to roll it correctly, so went with a stacked cake with whipped cream frosting. It will taste great, but looks like my 8 year old nieces decorated it (if they didn’t live hundreds of miles away, I would definitely blame it on them.)
So, my question is this—is it January 2nd yet?

I’m guessing the hack was real but didn’t come from North Korea. The terrorist threat was either fabricated or it was just another “bomb threat” someone sent — that is, not real. Sony then took advantage of the alleged “terrorist threats” to their advantage.

They could make a movie about a studio that produced a movie that sucked so hard, they had to stage a “hack” in order to generate enough motivation to get people to watch this piece of crap movie.

The FBI would be right about the email hack but possibly not North Korea. Even if it was from North Korea none of The Interview PR had much to do with the email hack alone. It was the “terrorist threat” that set the wheels in motion.

At last word the FBI was still claiming to have evidence linking the hack to North Korea they can’t reveal because it’s based on sensitive intelligence sources. Which isn’t implausible, but a lot of people are declining to trust the FBI in the post-Snowden era.

Right up there with truthers and birthers AFAIK. The idea the US government via FBI or WH statements is going to back a deceptive and fraudulent play like that to help Sony pictures is just beyond laughable. And statements from NK that essentially say we deny it it but if Sony & the US don’t behave you get more of the same or worse pretty much put the nails in the coffin of that idea.

I remember when the original Grand Theft Auto came out on PC. The game was kind of fun, but the graphics were cheesy and the gameplay tedious at best. I remember thinking to myself “If this game were in 3D, this would be the best game ever.”
Well, that happened with PS2. Last game I played was GTA San Andreas. After I finished that game I had a moment, I said to myself “It cannot get better.” Sold all my video games and gave all my vintage Nintendo shit to my sister, where I know it’s in good hands (she’s a hardcore gamer/cosplayer). Haven’t played video games since.

1) Either God is into the whole Aryan thing, or
2) “Jesus” bio-dad was a Roman army recruit from Scandi or Britannia.
I remember going on a tour of the LDS visitors’ center in Salt Lake City, and the thing that struck me the most was that Jesus was depicted as a blond, blue-eyed guy with a trimmed beard in every single picture they had of him. And they had a lot!

True, that is a point. Doctor Who was having a problem with this.
But, if you show him on Christmas here, you have a 50%+ chance of him saying something foul.
Then BBC America and AMC get calls and yelling, and then you have a shitshow.

I actually had to work at the hospital today, but afterwards I brought my Maddie her present. Then, I took Maddie and her crew (my lil girl cousins) to see Annie. They all said they liked it. Maddie gave Annie an A+. I liked it but other than Jamie Foxx, nobody really sounded good. Me and my cousin, both agreed they should have just dubbed the voices. Still I liked it and the actors other than Cameron Diaz were good. And honestly, I could have taken the movie even with Cameron Diaz, but the singing really wasn’t up to what you’d expect from the Annie musical.
Still, the appropriate age group loved it, singing or not!

Back from my holiday adventure with my next-door neighbor (loony daughter who moved in when her mother, my dear friend, died last year.)
Went at 7, the time she said dinner would be (she was going to make a ham, but changed to cranberry meatloaf—whatever.) The only aromas discernible upon arriving were grass and cat, and, for some reason, Gone with the Wind was playing on TV.
She said that she forgot that she didn’t have any ground beef, so couldn’t make the meatloaf and was thinking about going with a rice-a-roni dish instead. I went home, grabbed some ground beef from the freezer and she proceeded to make the meatloaf. At about 8:15, it finally went in the oven.
We finally ate at about 9:45—by then, the wild mushroom bread pudding I’d made had dried out to near brick-like consistency (but was still the best thing on the plate.)
We watched the whole first season of “Drunk History,” ate various portions of brown and beige foods, then had dessert (which I brought) and finally I came home.
The end.

You can’t even suggest that Bhumibol is maybe too old to be king and should step down. The military junta in control now has incorporated pro-monarchy political “education” in the schools now, so it is going to take another King Mongkut or Chulalongkorn to demote the monarch to mere mortal.

Greets and saluts on this Boxing Day, post-Christmas quiet morning from the NYC metro area. The NYPD has been busy arresting people who have allegedly made threats against the Department in the wake of the assassination of the two officers last week.
I wonder if anyone’s bothered to arrest the Bundy clan and those who were out at the ranch pointing rifles at law enforcement there - a direct and imminent threat against law enforcement. Of course, those were feds, and it was Nevada, but seems like there was no such crackdown against the people who were threatening law enforcement.
My sense is that the events in NYC are getting wider play because it: 1) happened in NYC; and 2) the racial background of the shooter.

Among the self-proclaimed heroes who went to a movie theater Christmas Day and “defended” their right to freedom of speech by seeing Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy The Interview were a ragtag group in an Austin Alamo Drafthouse that sang Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” at their screening.
Similar moments of pre-movie singing were reported in an Atlanta theater as well. This is the incredible, irony-free lede from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s story: “The movie, and the singing, served as a statement from many theatergoers that a foreign power would not dictate what forms of entertainment Americans could or could not enjoy.”

In reply:
1. I’d note that the guy who actually killed two cops in Las Vegas got kicked off of the Bundy ranch for his obviously violent tendencies, so it could be at least argued that those around Bundy were no longer responsible for his actions.
2. It indeed in part about police being killed in NYC commanding more attention, but it could not be otherwise. Though as a Chicagoan it annoys me to admit it, New York City is the largest and most important city in the United States. What happens there and how safe the city is presumed to be is of outsized importance to the nation.
3. The decision about whom to prosecute is also involved. Simply put, it is easier to find a jury in New York City that will convict someone for openly threatening the NYPD that it is to find a Jury in rural Nevada that would convict for openly threatening the Bureau of Land Management.
Successful police work produces defenders, those who feel their lives are better because of police vigilance or because the police protected someone close to the defender from crime or caught the person who had committed a crime that hit close to home. The work the BLM does produces few local defenders. Most ranchers see the BLM as unfriendly and run by distant bureaucrats. People with that sort of view are more likely to nullify in when on a jury.

The fact remains that the BLM is widely disliked. I’d also point out it would be very difficult to prove that Bundy ordered sharpshooters into position, and it would also be hard to prove those sharpshooters actually had federal agents in their sights. The photos that were released wouldn’t prove the case, not against people with private lawyers.

I’m talking about the other people at the ranch with firearms that were threatening to use them if BLM carried out their lawful actions to seize Bundy’s livestock for his repeated failure to pay grazing fees.
They were protecting a law breaker, and were threatening use of force against duly authorized law enforcement with deadly force. There’s no other way to sugar coat that. The only thing stopping the Bundy ranch supporters from opening fire was that the BLM instead chose to deescalate the situation rather than provoke a deadly outcome for many involved (both civilian and law enforcement).
2) No question NYC is the media capital, but the level of coverage for the assassination of the two cops in Nevada pales in comparison to the coverage of the two NYPD officers killed, or even that of the PA state trooper killed in a sniper attack - even though both were on par with the same kind of deadly outcomes and anti-law enforcement backgrounds of the shooters.
3) The decision to prosecute? The feds limited their response so as to prevent the loss of life that would have come from the Bundy ranch escalating the level of violence. They should have prosecuted on that basis alone - threatening law enforcement, obstruction of justice, and the failure to do so only gives the Bundy ranch/sovereign citizen movements nationally more of an impetus to act lawlessly, arm and threaten law enforcement when the law enforcement comes to enforce duly enacted laws all because they’ve got some misbegotten understanding of law and their belief that the law doesn’t apply to them. The failure of the BLM and the feds to act only feeds the Bundy ranch supporters in their vindication that they can do whatever they want with no legal repercussions. That has long term consequences that only means bad things for everyone.

I think that’s your own prejudice, thinking that the BLM is widely disliked. The rest of us are more than happy that the BLM is managing our wilderness areas. In Nevada, I can go camp darn near anywhere I want because it’s public land. Hunters can hunt just about anywhere they want because it’s public land. All they need is a license which doesn’t cost much at all.
344 | lawhawk Dec 26, 2014 7:13:10am |
re: #341 Dark_Falcon
Bundy didn’t have to order the sharpshooters. Each could be prosecuted individually for threatening law enforcement. Those that held the line in the ranch (and stayed on Bundy’s ranch) could likewise face prosecution for their acts individually.
BLM doesn’t have to be liked - the ranchers still have to abide by the law. Bundy used to pay his fees, until the BLM changed the fee structure. Bundy didn’t like that and stopped paying. That you hate the government or the agency doesn’t mean you can simply ignore it, or the consequences of the actions.
345 | lawhawk Dec 26, 2014 7:14:45am |
re: #343 Sionainn
In fact, the BLM fees are still quite low considering what the ranchers get out of the deal. They don’t have to actually own the land on which their herds are grazing (a significant cost savings). Bundy was complaining about a fee that is still ridiculously low.

Getting back to what you said originally, i think it does come back in other ways to where things went down. Nevada is out in the periphery of the nation while NYC is at the very center. Acts of defiance that might be endurable down in the boondocks are not tolerable in the nation’s largest city.
Moreover, it’s easier to take down the kind threats we’re talking about in New York City. Regardless of who is making the arrest (local or federal), law enforcement can deploy in overwhelming force with excellent knowledge of the area. This virtually ensures that even if the suspects violently resist they’ll be either arrested or killed.
In Nevada outside of Las Vegas, law enforcement does not have as great a depth nor the same knowledge of the terrain. Thus a raid is more likely to end with the suspect escaping or in a prolonged standoff.

The F-35, the newest U.S. stealth fighter ill-suited to air-ground mission due to outdated electronic warfare suite http://t.co/xQGfbkX8sg— lawhawk (@lawhawk) December 26, 2014
The point of stealth is that it makes it tougher for radar to paint and identify the incoming planes so that by the time they might be able to get a reading, the stealth plane has already hit its targets and is outbound.
To achieve stealth, the fighters limit the number of external weapons hardpoints and use internal bays to fire missiles or drop bombs. Electronics and avionics suites are also internalized.
The F-35 was designed years ago, and hasn’t taken advantage of the latest in targeting pods that current fighters, including the A-10, F-15, F-16, and F-18 use to paint their targets. Those targeting pods provide an expansive picture of events on the ground and can relay them as well. The F-35? Apparently, its targeting systems don’t have that capability, and a fix would be a costly one.
In other words, the F-35 will not be as useful in air-to-ground situations as the F-16, A-10, and other aircraft that are significantly cheaper per unit, and have long shown their value.
Figures.

How many billions will it cost to upgrade?
Unknown.
One of the JSF officials agreed that the EOTS does not speak well for the Pentagon’s ability to buy new weapons. “EOTS is a poster child for one of the ills of the acquisition process,” the official said. “Because all of the subsystems depend on each other, requirements aren’t allowed to change after the design is ‘finalized.’ It’s not a big deal, unless it takes 20 years to field the jet… then it’s a problem.”
The F-35 will likely work out most of its problems, but it should remain the Great Example as to why defense procurement needs reform.

re: #366 The Vicious Babushka
How many billions will it cost to upgrade?
The JSF/F-35 program total cost is nearly $400 billion to date. I haven’t seen any costs associated with upgrades to this particular system, but it’d be considerable. Each plane costs upwards of $178 million averaging the three variants. Total cost to the US for the F-35 program over its lifetime is likely to be well north of $1 trillion (that’s with a T).
The F-22 program is another $60+ billion and the order was limited because the F-35 has overlapping missions.
That’s money that could have gone to so many other programs that are more worthy even within the military, let alone to civilian programs (like infrastructure).

re: #366 The Vicious Babushka
Hm. Maybe so as they say. But the critics have a history of being spectacularly wrong.
If you go back you will see similar complaints about almost every advanced weapon. You know those precision guided smart missiles we now depend on? The critics phrase was “gold plated weapons” that could not possibly be produced in sufficient numbers given the expense. Then we put cheap precision kits on old vietnam era dumb bombs and dropped them into particular windows of particular buildings wrecking enemy facilities whilst leaving nearby civilian facilities almost undamaged.
The F-15 was called a boondoggle, a huge mistake in comparison to the cheaper lighter f-16. Today the F-15 has an air to air combat record unmatched in the history of air combat. It’s biggest problem is age. Funny how that turned out.
The B-2 is said to become visible if it gets wet. False. Stealth is said to be vulnerable to long wave radar-Somewhat true but long wave is useless for weapons control. A point missed in all the critics articles on the point. And established tactics of dealing with layered threats somehow stay out of these critics memos.
The devices that the F-35 won’t carry are assumed to be too large now and forever apparently. But as a network centric plane it’s not supposed to carry those sensors, it’s supposed to use their data from other craft. Plus in one part of the article it’s claimed they could have planned ahead, but in another admit certain capacities were “undreamed of” when the plane was designed. Newsflash-Development in combat with established craft always proceeds faster than prototypical design.

re: #374 Rightwingconspirator
The F-15 was expensive per unit as compared to other planes of that generation, but it has managed to become a platform for air to ground, which was something not envisioned, allowing it to keep around. The F-16 was a far cheaper plane, and does things that no other plane in the US inventory can do, including the F-15 or F-18.
Stealth bombers are still a boondoggle because they don’t have the carrying capacity of the B-52, and standoff weapons means that the B-52 can lob more at a target from greater range, than a B-2 could - all while keeping the crew at a safer distance. The cost remains eye-popping per unit for the B-2.
UAVs are starting to do the jobs of the bombers and long range attack fighters, meaning that for a fraction of the cost, you can get a UAV to do deep strike missions that would otherwise be carried out by a F-35 or F-22.
That’s the biggest criticism of the F-35 and F-22; they may indeed be the last manned fighters given the way that UAVs have proliferated in fighting in Afghanistan and elsewhere. Though, there’s a counter-criticism that manned fighters will always be needed to handle complex missions, or to avert a possible cyber attack that might cripple a UAV networked fighter system.

Yet the thing is, there are several cheaper alternatives to the F-35 on the market today. Hell, Canada’s actually having a bit of a political crisis over the cost of F-35 compared to the alternatives and may cancel its own order. Why? Because the major selling point of the F-35, stealth, only really matters in an aggressive war against an enemy which has a modern air defense set-up and modern fighters. On every other selling point, from performance to reliability, the competitors can either match or beat it. And the biggest selling point? The alternatives are already in service, while the F-35 might be another half a decade before the first combat unit goes operational.

Ours is not, but the partners in the program are. We have the luxury of being able to afford gold-plated fighters. Meanwhile, as I noted, Canada right now have a political storm brewing over their commitment to the F-35 program. Harper’s getting it with both barrels, not only over the cost and complexity of the program, but also over the failure to put fighter procurement up to a competitive bid.

Remember:
Wealth and prosperity are measured in how many resources we consume.
Law and order are measured in how many policemen we employ, and how many criminals we imprison.
Foreign policy success is measured in how many wars we start.
And national defense capability is measured in how much we spend on military contracts.

Short barrell means less velocity, weight, more ability to turn or move or change aim quick. Useful in a serious gunfight like the North Hollywood bank robbery. Less velocity means more likely to stop on the first object hit, which is important in a city or residential area. Full auto defeats body armor.
Why hinder them with excess length and velocity?

Were they changing their aim a lot during the North Hollywood shootout when there were only two perpetrators? And why would you want a short barrel if you’re worried about defeating body armor?
Wouldn’t engaging someone at a longer range, with a longer barrel, giving you deeper penetration against a possibly armored target, particularly when a police officer should be able to shoot better than some asshole with an AK-47 be ideal over spraying a couple hundred rounds down a city block?

If snipers had gotten deployed, sure. Full auto of lesser impact still puts an armored man down. Back then LAPD was so under armed they wound up illegally getting better guns from a local store. A store that ATF tried to bust for it. And yes they were changing aim all along as those guys walked away under fire. “Only” two perpetrators? You should have seen that neighborhood after “only two” guys shot it up. Brass and bullets and bullet holes turned up for days.
Thing is sometimes it’s a sudden fight. Not like a hostage deal where the bad guys location is fixed and snipers and entry teams can stage up and then finally act. Next time an armored bad guy has at it with military weapons, the first cops on the scene might be able to deal with it. 9mm was always a bad idea for cops or soldiers. Inadequate to the task. Contributes to excessive fire.

Sherman Firefly is what the British called M4s fitted with the 17-Pounder. The M4A3 model was not issued to the British Army in anything but small numbers for testing. It was, however, the preferred tank for conversion of as far as the US Army was concerned, and over 80 M4A3s plus an few M4s for a total of 100 were converted to the 17-Pounder in the UK for US Army use. These did not become operational til after Germany had surrendered and as a result only 80 were taken into US service (with the other 20 retained by the UK). At one point it was proposed to transfer them to the Pacific for the invasion of Japan, but Japan field no tanks that the US 76mm gun could not defeat and so the proposal was decided against.

The only correction for that I’d make is that the ATF didn’t get as far as seeking arrest warrants. They raised questions about paperwork (for which there had been no time), after which the gun store called the LAPD officers it had provided the rifles and shotguns to, following which the LAPD called the Department of the Treasury (which the ATF was part of at the time), with the result that Treasury Secretary Lloyd Benson quashed the investigation and ordered the ATF to make an exception.

Considering that armor on Japanese tanks was so thin that a .50cal BMG round could punch through one side and out the other, firing a 17-pounder at one would be the very definition of “overkill.”

Right, every cop needs a 10” fully automatic rifle because of one shooting in a metropolitan city.
And you know almost every police department uses .40 S&W nowadays, right?
And the ATF tried to “bust” the store for criminal violations of the law:
In 1993, relations between its founders, brothers Bob and Barry Kahn, soured. This led to litigation between the two over control of the company in 1994, eventually leading to a settlement in 1997 that left the business in the hands of Bob Kahn and his wife, Kathleen. It also racked up $1.75 million in legal and accounting fees, the first cited cause of the bankruptcy.
According to the filing, at this time, Barry Kahn engaged in illegal activities that would have endangered B&B’s licenses and which later got him locked up in federal prison. The filing further alleges that he bought substantial inventory against Bob Kahn’s wishes, which then had to be liquidated at a loss for $425,000. Bad investments followed, and all the while the company found itself with increasing legal headaches.
Beyond that, anti-gun legislation by the city has hurt.
“Gun businesses are dropping like flies in the city of Los Angeles,” said Chuck Michel, a spokesman for the California Rifle and Pistol Association and a lawyer who represented B&B in past lawsuits. “They have ridiculous taxes, ridiculous expenses and it’s impossible to find employees to get their permits approved. The simple truth is that they’ve litigated this store to death, which is what they always wanted to do.”
Two of B&B’s past legal difficulties are cited in the filing. A lawsuit filed by various municipalities in 1999, prosecuting various dealers and manufacturers as contributing to a public nuisance, tied up more funds in legal fees. Last March, agents from the California Department of Justice raided both of B&B’s facilities, alleging that the dealer had defrauded gun buyers.
“B&B believes that these acts were a blatant, premeditated and orchestrated attempt to destroy B&B,” the filing reads.
Hallye Jordan, a spokeswoman for the Justice Department, disputed this, saying the department had turned up numerous complaints that the firm had charged buyers for personal transfers of firearms, a transaction that should be free.
“We got some complaints from consumers that they were being charged these fees, then we did some sting operations where our agents were overcharged, as well,” Jordan said. “We talked to the owners and advised them that was illegal. They were warned, which is what led to the search warrants being served.”
Not to mention, the rifles acquired from the store weren’t even used against the perpetrators, according to another source, it was the LAPD’s SWAT who disabled both shooters (one committed suicide, the other bled to death).

Hell hath no fury like a bureaucrat forced to back off. Sounds like the ATF was butthurt that the gun shop had fought back instead of groveling and so decided to punish it with layers of excessive investigation and process.
It curves back to an upthread discussion to note that actions like this are why many people hate federal agencies. Most people at such agencies do their jobs the right way, but there are a few ‘little tin god’ bullies and those bullies get more media attention than the decent employees, human nature being what it is.

We’re not going to agree on this one, simply because we’re beginning from different places. TW, you’re not going to convince we and you are highly unlikely to convince RWC that the gun shop is the party at fault. There’s no conclusive evidence and both of us are quite skeptical of the ATF.
For our part, RWC, we’re not at all likely to bring TW around, because we don’t have anything definitive and he prefers to defend the ATF and fault the gun shop.
It’s cheap and lame to say, but both sides believe what they believe, and nothing short of definitive proof (which will not happen in this case) will resolve the disagreement.
May I suggest we get back to the tactical issues of the North Hollywood shootout, in view of how they are relevant to police weapons? For my part, I apologize for having gone off on a tangent in my #427.

Sorry, but I’ve never been to German Church Road nor am I familiar with the case you mentioned.

Schindler flaunts his knowledge of Russian:
Of course Putin, Kremlin + average Russians are obsessed with conspiracies: Chekist word for “espionage tradecraft” is…”konspiratsiya”— John Schindler (@20committee) December 26, 2014
Except… konspiratsiya means simply measures to keep something clandestine (be it identity, information, etc.). Sure, spies use it, but so do the police, criminals, revolutionaries, etc. And it has nothing whatsoever to do with conspiracy theories.

OK.
The murder of the Grimes sisters is sort of Chicago’s answer to the Black Dahlia of Los Angeles…….a long-unsolved homicide.
You can read about it here;

But RWC is no NRA drone. He’s been quite critical of the NRA many times ever the last couple years. But his willingness to question and criticize the NRA hasn’t meant he stopped being critical of the ATF.
I wasn’t implying that RWC is a drone of any kind. I was trying to back up Timothy Watson. He isn’t the only one here with that opinion.
At one time, I would have also cried “strawman”, but no longer.

Good morning lizards.
We’re back home and they only partially opened her up.
She was on antibiotics all night, but no pain meds the bastards. They pulled the staples and cut open the main incision to drain it, then packed it with antibiotic laced gauze. We have to take her to the clinic every day to have the gauze changed.
She says the pain went from a 6 to a 3 after the incision was drained. Now to see if we can get it to less than 1.
The surgeon told her that what she is going through is very unusual. That doesn’t help.
For the first time in a week I’ve had a full night of sleep knowing she was in good hands at the hospital.
Good news! Hopefully they are on the right track to get your wife all fixered up.
Your case reminds me of the son of my old boss. Went in for a hip replacement (44 years old), got infected, turned to MRSA had to go on strong meds for 4 months or so the get infection controlled and then they replaced the original hip joint, which they figured was the problem with the infection. Overall, about 1 full year to get him close to right. Somehow in all the operations, they managed to shorten the length of his replaced hip side leg.
Hospitals scare the hell out of me!

Having been slowly de-conditioned, I have to agree with the poster.
NRA drones are strangely brainwashed.
This past month we get to see friends we’ve missed thruout the year. Most are NRA Conservatives. I was really, I mean really, shocked at the rhetoric I heard —same old stuff without any acknowledgment of known facts.
It was like 911 was yesterday.
The straw man part is my implied support. plus the idea that when a rational question is asked, like what the poster might suggest instead, well then it was just wave the NRA issue on a long pole and end the rational part of the discussion and take it down to mere rhetoric. Not worth our time. No down dings or nothin’ just really tired of getting lumped in with an organization i don’t support, criticised many times, and that at best represents 10% of gun owners.
Just not the level of conversation that keeps me at the keyboard.

Memo to Erica Garner: You’re right to see the grand jury letting off the cop who killed your father as a travesty, but doxing his partner and five possible relatives is a rotten thing to do.
The Daily Mail, not known for accuracy in its own right, quotes New York Post as the source for this nonsense.
Totally believable…NOT.
