Regarding Kim Jong Un, most current stories regarding his health (including the TMZ one) are relying on two somewhat conflicting reports: One from China that says he is dead and one out of Japan that says he is in a vegetative state as a the result of a surgery to insert a stent that went wrong.

Even the TMZ article stresses they have NOT confirmed Kims death.

So I made pork for carnitas today. The frying in manteca comes later.

Here’s the pot before cooking.

The pork came out heavenly. It was an intense recipe!!

Main takeaway, 1st time I’ve ever purchased fresh oregano. Shame on me.

Stuff like this is the reason I persist with Nextdoor, weird noises, obnoxious neighbors and “suspicious (dark) persons” reports notwithstanding. The latter give me a chance to add my favorite advice, “Look, folks, a kid walking down the street is usually just a kid walking down the street.”

The Federal Trade Commission decided to crack down on 10 multi level marketing companies for two things:

1) making unsubstantiated income claims

2) stating that their products would work on coronavirus.

Among the companies called out are doTerra, Arbonne, Rodan+Fields and It Works.

The letters, with example claims. can be read at this link: ftc.gov

Since the stimulus checks were announced, the hunbots have been trying to recruit desperate people into their MLMs. I hole this dampens down some of that activity.

The data coming out about Kim King Un reminds me of my dad: he had a survivable heart attack but fell back and got vomit in his wind pipe. Mom could not get him over and airway open. Ambulance got there in 10 but that oxygen loss did him in. 1 week of no brain waves and we unplugged when Mom was ready.

Possible a heart attack started a cascade of issues resulting in oxygen loss to the brain. You can last forever on machines at that point but the sentient being is gone.

The National Catholic Reporter noted recently Surgeon General Adams has implied that the coronavirus outbreak is part of God’s plan.

ncronline.org

“I often think about the many places in the Bible where we’re told God doesn’t put you where you’re going to be comfortable. God puts you where you need to be,” Adams said.

Because people are scared and anxious, he added, “they need to know that there is a larger plan, a higher power at work.”

He’s also claimed that he became Surgeon General and the pandemic coinciding with Holy Week were also part of God’s Plan.

Chicken breasts on the grill here. Using a packaged marinade spice mix with ghee for oil and balsamic vinegar. We’ll see how they turn out in just a few minutes… though given how pink they were when I flipped them, I worry that they may not be done.

Vince McMahon just a few days ago ended the contracts of a bunch of talent, furloughed a bunch of people, and fired some regular employees. And put his construction plans on hold. All the while, the latest WWE financial report (Thursday) shows the company still quite profitable and doled out dividends (of which McMahon is the largest recipient.) Yet McMahon is part of Trump’s economic reopening group.

Trump and Putin issue rare joint statement promoting cooperation (Yahoo!)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin issued a rare joint statement on Saturday commemorating a 1945 World War Two link-up of U.S. and Soviet troops on their way to defeat Nazi Germany as an example of how their countries can cooperate.

The statement by Trump and Putin comes amid deep strains in U.S.-Russian ties over a raft of issues, from arms control and Russia’s intervention in Ukraine and Syria to U.S. charges that Russia has spread disinformation about the novel coronavirus pandemic and interfered in U.S. election campaigns.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the decision to issue the statement sparked debate within the Trump administration, with some officials worried it could undercut stern U.S. messages to Moscow.

They had Kobe right because they undoubtedly have an ongoing relationship with somebody at the helicopter place, somebody who every days sees who got on a charter chopper (and reports where the flight plan says its headed); and then would have known instantly when one of their own aircraft went down.

Do we really think TMZ has ongoing relationships with people inside the upper levels of the NK regime? Unlikely.

So the GOP machine coupled with the angry Berners are going full on in social media about Biden must drop out.

I have no idea if the allegations against Biden are true. Yes, I do believe that credible accusations ought to be investigated.

Yet again, though, the right-wingers screaming about this somehow, someway, never really cared about Trump’s known misbehaviors and law breaking, not even mentioning the many credible allegations that have not been investigated thoroughly, suddenly find themselves concerned about these issues.

Guess Jeff Goldblum said something dumb that’s got Twitter fired up?

The “Jurassic World 3” star, who served as a guest judge during the episode, asked Cox if she was religious.

“I’m not, and, to be honest, this outfit really represents the importance that visibility for people of religious minorities need to have in this country,” Cox replied.

Goldblum continued asking Cox about her religion’s stance on the LGBTQ community and women.

”Is there something in that religion that is anti-homosexuality and anti-woman? Does that complicate the issue?” the actor asked. “I’m just raising it and thinking out loud and maybe being stupid.”

RuPaul quickly chimed in noting how drag has always “shaken the tree” and if there was ever a place to make that sort of statement, “this is the stage to do it.”

Cox admitted it’s a “complex issue” and that she has her own “misgivings” about how the LGBTQ community is treated in the Middle East.

And that explains why no one has heard from North Korea since the covid19 outbreak.

First we had the outbreak in China and they claimed to contain it, when that wasn’t happening. Then we saw an outbreak in New Rochelle down the road from Yonkers.

And North Korea fell off the radar entirely. Trump’s busy claiming panaceas and cures when no such thing exists.

All that’s missing is a wall going up around Israel and the Palestinian territories and a deal between those longstanding rivals and we’ve got the World War Z bingo card filled out.

Well, so far, the answer to your first question is “sort of”, and “no” to the rest.

Apparently, from what I’ve read, Ms Reade has been airing allegations against Joe Biden for years (the supposed incident, as I’ve heard it mostly described, was a Trumpian grab-em-by-the-you-know-what in a Senate hallway back in 1993(?)): AFAIK, there has been little/ no actual “ investigation” - or, if there was, it was inconclusive. But the allegations (now inflated to “rape”) just *coincidentally* surfaced again as soon as Biden became the presumptive D nominee. Purely by chance, no doubt….

Just IMO, the whole thing stinks like last week’s haddock…..

Let’s make something known: your President will never stop FIGHTING to put America First with every decision that he makes.

While the Left is wasting your time and taxpayer dollars by trying to implement their BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALIST agenda, President Trump has never stopped delivering on his promises to the American People:
Two of the world’s top terrorist leaders have been eliminated
The Wall is being FINISHED
A record number of conservative judges have been appointed to federal courts
America is respected on the World Stage again
The President knows the Do Nothing Democrats and the Fake News media won’t ever tell the facts about him and his Administration, and that’s why he wants to know what a few respected grassroots leaders, like YOU, think.

re: #127 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus

Fundamentalists are in denial of their heritage:

Braxton Hunter is an Astroturf “amateur” Christian apologist who is extremely well-financed by RWNJ Christians.

In this case, he’s using the tired old apologetics trope that atheists “worship” evolution, or have “faith” in evolution.

Atheists don’t “need” to prove the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is true. No part of “atheist” says you “have to believe in evolution.”

Atheism is simply a lack of belief in any gods. That’s it. Braxton Hunter, like so many apologists, is ashamed of the term “religion” (because wouldn’t you know, religious people have committed atrocities right up to the present day, including in this country), so the goal is to claim “atheists are just as bad, they’re a religion too.”

Nope.

The only answer Braxton Hunter deserves to that is “Evolution is a fact and you’re a crackpot for thinking otherwise.”

On him being an Astroturf “amateur” apologist, Felicia Entwhistle brings the receipts on who he is and how he got to where he is. Theologians and apologists have gotten such bad names that they now have to lie about themselves (they used to only lie about their religion). [1:06:41]

Well, I’m glad you asked.

Imagine this: You’re being treated in a hospital emergency room. The medical professional attending to you tries to make ER small talk by asking, “How’d this happen?” And you answer …

… “I was using the toilet.”

You and 32,999 other Americans each year.

Pedantic check: extremists took over the RC around 323CE.

In 321, he legislated that the venerable Sunday should be a day of rest for all citizens.[225] In 323, he issued a decree banning Christians from participating in state sacrifices.[226] After the pagan gods had disappeared from his coinage, Christian symbols appeared as Constantine’s attributes, the chi rho between his hands or on his labarum,[227] as well on the coin itself.

Now the extremists are taking over Roman Catholicism too. Because of course they are. The idiots are taking over.

The overwhelming majority of the time Christianity has been around, we would call it “extreme” today. The only reason they aren’t extremists now is because the Enlightenment dragged Christianity screaming and kicking out of the Dark Ages.

Their more passionate (extreme) members have always resented that, and ever since have tried to drag us back.

Ever since Goldwater ran for President, they’ve had control of a political party here where they can do that.

I’ve never been able to get a straight answer out of “your holy book condones murder, rape, slavery, genocide, and human sacrifice.” It’s always some variation of “your taking it out of context” (in what context are those things okay). Folks like the NIFB wanting the government to execute gay people or kill adulterers and unbelievers are simply going back to the roots of their religion.

Not true. Had a Zoom meeting with various family members a couple hours ago where we discussed whether it was wise to hand a 10 month old a tambourine during said family chat. Tambourine was removed and hidden behind a large pillow. Aforementioned 10 month old retrieved it 5 minutes later. She is making great strides on object permanence.

“When we look to the individuals of the same variety or sub-variety of our older cultivated plants and animals, one of the first points which strikes us, is, that they generally differ much more from each other, than do the individuals of any one species or variety in a state of nature. And then the dragons came.” (On the origin of species)

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. And then the dragons arrived.”

Top Gynecologist Baffled After Cristina Cuomo Says She Bathes In Clorox Bleach While Recovering From Virus (Goes to Com!cSands)

Cristina Cuomo is the CNN anchor’s wife. Chris Cuomo had Covid-19 and their son does now.

She also apparently listened to the moron-in-chief about bleach.

The gynaecologist in question is Dr. Jennifer Gunter.

A recent post on Cristina Cuomo’s blog Purist in which she said that she was adding bleach to her bathwater has experts shaking their heads.

Dr. Jennifer Gunter, known for her scathing criticism of Gwynneth Paltrow’s brand Goop, tweeted her surprise in response to a share of Cuomo’s article about her bathing habits.

—-

Cuomo’s post includes quite a bit of pseudoscience, including references to phone/wifi radiation as being harmful to the body. She also cites a Mayo Clinic article about using a diluted bleach solution to treat eczema to support her decision to bathe in bleach to “combat the radiation and metals in my system and oxygenate it.”

She also heavily quoted Linda Lancaster, a “Board Certified Naturopathic Physician and Homeopath” (a professional peer board of like minded individuals who declared themselves “doctors” of things like light and energy medicine and crystal healing) who is associated with Goop, in her post.
