Juice killing two people and getting away with it was bad. Juice committing armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel was also bad. Rockets vs Knicks Game 6 NBA Finals getting interrupted to show Juice crawling down the highway in the white Bronco was a crime against humanity.

I’m sure the family of the person Jenner killed in that car wreck will say exactly the same about her when she shuffles off that mortal coil herself…

Her name was Kim Howe. 5 other people were injured.

Jenner should have been charged but wasn’t. She blamed a pack of feral paparazzi for the accident.
Er, no, Caitlyn, paparazzi are a low form of life but they are not terrorists or assassins so you have no right to endanger yourself or others in your attempts to avoid them.

Contempt of court

So the list of potential witnesses was leaked to the media. Wonder who did that? And then Trump promptly violates his gag order by going after some of them.

Will there be any repercussions to his continuing to show his contempt? Seems like our judicial system has met its match.

This answers two questions I had:

lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com

First, yes, Trump will violate gag orders and put witnesses in harm’s way. I wonder if Merchan has the gumption to haul him into court?

Second, I was right that Bragg has the goods on Trump regarding the proof required to show that Trump’s hush money payment was about the campaign, not his “personal embarrassment”

We know this because there are witnesses who were on the campaign.

Back from Texas after seeing brief glimpses of the eclipse. It was still worth going to even though I’ve seen many totalities before. That final ninety second plunge from day to near darkness is always dramatic (and a little frightening for your hindbrain). I got a few shots of the partial ingress phase.

My best partial eclipse shot. 1,000mm f/10 We were fighting two cloud layers—high cirrus behind a thick low deck. Only rarely did thin spots align.
About four minutes before second contact. Illumination was changing moment to moment due to cloud thichness, so framing and getting the exposure right was a challenge!

I have very vague and hazy memories of seeing the Rodney King tape on TV, news coverage of the riots, followed by the white Bronco chase and endless hours of coverage of the OJ trial. Started work, and one of our long time programmers was gone, one of two people on a particular product we support. By lunch two more were gone. It seems that higher ups have decided that 5% of the workforce needs to be cut, after a cut about 6 months ago. Our group lost 20%; another group lost 7 of their 11.

We didn’t have enough people to make what they expect us to by the end of the year before the cuts; now it will be even worse.

Well, it’s that time of year again. Power outage season brought to us by Pacific Gas & Electric. A 2 hour outage tonight leads off the festivities this year. Mild temps with no rain in a week means we can expect more and longer outages as the season progresses and the days and nights warm up. Maybe one day we will have a more reliable power grid but probably not before they’ve jacked up their rates a few more times. But maybe I’m too harsh. At least it didn’t burn down a couple more cities.

Lauren Boebert’s son whines about lawyer ‘prices’ in ‘crime spree’ case: ‘Been kinda hard’

then…don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time…

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) son, Tyler, appeared in court on Thursday following his arrest for a crime spree that included committing I.D. theft, explaining he was stressed for cash to pay a private attorney, according to Westword.

Boebert, 19, who faces felonies for criminal possession of identity documents, informed the judge of his money woes.

“We are working to hire an attorney, but it’s just been kind of hard with the prices,” Tyler told 9th Judicial District Judge John Neiley. “Worst case scenario, if we can’t get something figured out with the lawyer then we’re going to apply for a public defender or whatever works best for me.”

Neiley encouraged Boebert to go with a public defender until he can afford another esquire.

“I always think it’s a good idea to maybe do both, because if you qualify, you have options,” he said, according to Westword. “We can set this off for a little bit of time for you to make that decision.”

Meantime, Boebert won some compliments from Neiley for his all-black suit he wore.

“Thank you for the attire,” Neiley said, according to the outlet. “I appreciate it when people dress for court.”

Cops in Rifle, Colorado, contend that Boebert robbed a woman with a brain tumor who said that she only had $75 “left to her name.”
