A tour group bus pulled into the hotel this morning. They are going to take shelter from Hurricane Fiona here. I imagine the hotel bar is going to be packed tonight.

Today we toured the rest of the Dr. Grenfell exhibit that we missed yesterday, including his former home. We had a very long chat with the caretaker, who has a lot of knowledge about the place.

Hurricane warnings have been extended up the west coast of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundand, and tropical storm warnings have been extended past here to L’Anse aux Meadows. All we can do now is drink. Wait, I meant wait.

Down in the Caribbean Sea, Tropical Depression Nine has formed. It is expected to be a tropical storm as it passes Jamaica, a hurricane as it crosses or passes near western Cuba, and a major hurricane as it approaches the Florida west coast south of Tampa next week.
