An apology would be an admission that he did something wrong, and I think we’ve established pretty well by this point that he doesn’t think he did anything wrong that day. In his mind, everything that happened that day was Brown’s fault and thus he’s totally blameless. I imagine he tells himself and others, in the privacy of closed doors, that Brown “brought it on himself.”
