I did not even know that Ellis Island still existed and was processing immigrants after WW2. My great-great-grandfather came through Castle Garden.

My maternal grandmother’s parents came through Castle Garden. My maternal grandfather came through Ellis Island. All but one of my ancestors on my father’s side (all Irish) came before there was any immigration requirements (the one exception was a great-grandfather who snuck across the border from Canada).
