When they have these events do they close down the entire mountain or do they still let parts of it remain open?

The race courses proper and a couple of adjacent trails close, as does the lift over the courses during racing (the lift will open at 2:30 everyday to get people out of there). Other than that, the mountain stays open. Really a drop in the bucket terrain-wise. I read that less than 5% of Vail Mountain will be closed during the races.
