Nobody in the Republican primary can go head-to-head with Trump without have double-digit poll numbers first. Without those, Trump will simply belittle them as a “low-energy pipsqueak” and so far that tactic has worked well. Rubio needs somewhere around 3% more in the polls plus good timing.
