I’m holed up here on the farm. My young & crazy neighbor went to town to pick up our mail yesterday.
Right now, I haz a grumpy because despite all my best efforts and srsly interrupted sleep pattern to keep the plumbing from freezing, the inlet pipe to my toilet froze sometime before 3 a.m. Now I’m afraid to go to sleep in case the damned thing finally decides to burst.
At least all the other plumbing is behaving what with the constantly dribbling taps. Tonight’s forecast low is above zero for the first time in days, but we don’t get above freezing until Friday.

Ahhh, the joys of backwoods living…

I am woefully ignorant about frozen pipes so this could be a stupid question - is there anything other than letting water dribble from the faucet that can alleviate the freeze? Although it sounds kinds fun to be holed up like that, I’m sure you must be getting some serious cabin fever and having to worry about pipes freezing takes a bunch of the fun away. Please stay safe and as warm as you can.
