Again, that’s a common misconception. You can’t taint the jury pool by releasing facts about the case. You can taint it in other ways, but not by saying what the cops believed happened. Otherwise there’d be no information released by the cops up until a trial. Think about it.
As I understand it, potential jurors could be eliminated for having preconceptions about guilt/innocence - even if it based on evidence that would be a part of the trial. Isn’t that the case? Would they only eliminate jurors for prejudice based on inadmissible evidence?
