re: #180 Brian J.

Plenty of other dumb people out there. And a couple of vivid descriptions of radiation poisoning will help make up any flipper’s mind.

Yeah, I’m gonna have to wave off here. I’m not quite ready to believe Putin’s going to start poisoning Trumpers in order to force them in line. This is just too close to the “Hillary Body Count” business for me.

What confidence do you have that will occur? Hillary Clinton ran ahead of nearly every House and Senate Democrat in 2016, and that wasn’t good enough to win or win Congress. Bernie Trump’s doing his best, with the help of the professional left, to keep the Republicans in power; most American liberals don’t want the responsibility and compromises required in government any more than conservatives do. Conservatives, however, are much better at getting into office…

Right, conservatives have an easy time of getting reelected. But as we saw with guys like Eric Cantor, the base is fickle and quick to primary out those they feel have been insufficiently dedicated to the ideology. “Car Thief” Issa won reelection last year, but the margin was much tighter than he’s used to. Ryan’s presently polling lower than Trump is back home. And Senators don’t even have that luxury, they’ve got to win an entire state, not a gerrymandered “safe” district. It’s probably why there’s more evidence of Russiagate being taken seriously in the Senate than there is in the House.
