I guess my main question is whether the plant was specifically targeted, or was Hamas purposefully placing fighters and equipment near it - thus increasing the odds of the plant being hit by a near miss.

My take is that both sides are making borderline decisions and share the blame for citizens suffering. And the finger pointing and rhetoric can go back and forth and down for quite a few layers. While people have to hide from bombs and rockets.

It’s a large part of why I’ve avoided discussions about the matter. There really doesn’t seem to be a “good guy” this time around, just the right-wing Israel gov’t against Hamas, with Gazans stuck in the middle.
