Right. Moderate to liberal socially but conservative economically. Carter was similar but less hawkish.

I think Clinton and Gore could even be described as conservative on social issues until the national stage - given where they stood on choice. Granted, that’s not uncommon, the linked story points out Reagan’s move in the other direction.
