I was making $50K 3 years ago. I had been unemployed for a couple of years and I took whatever I could get JUST TO GET BACK IN THE GAME.

Now I am making in the high 5 figures. Someone with my skills & experience could be making in the 6 figures if I was more aggressive about it, but I enjoy my job and my co-workers.

Well, adjusted for inflation, minimum wage should be at least $9.42 right now. And the Rs don’t want to raise it above $7.25/hr? You know they’ll fight it tooth and nail, even though it hasn’t gone up since 2009.
