If she is claiming to be Cherokee yet has non-aboriginal parents, then she’s taking unethical liberties with the definitions.

In Canada, if both parents are Status 62, then the kids are Status 62. They can claim all the treaty benefits. If one parent is Status 62 and one isn’t, then the kids are Status 61, meaning they can claim benefits, but their kids can’t unless they marry a Status 62.

In Canada, Warren would not be considered aboriginal.
