This is going to be the most bizarre presidential election in American history. Dog help us muddle through without it turning into a complete disaster.

Yep, a major party candidate who is not only fighting over $600m in civil judgments against him, but is fighting 88 criminal charges (with the possibility of one or more convictions for such) by the time he washes up at his party’s convention. In any other year, he’d have been considered unelectable before the primaries had even started. Yet not only is he still considered a viable candidate, but the party’s leadership and the bulk of its voters are “ride or die.”
