Didn’t know that about Bill tbh.

It makes sense when you consider his “safe, legal, and rare” stuff during the campaigns.

That said, Bill Clinton (or someone like him) was necessary to eventually get someone like Obama. It’s sort of the converse of conservatives needing someone like Nixon (who really wasn’t that conservative, at least for his time) in order to get to someone like Reagan.
