Well, as public as Dr. Stein has been about this, with coverage across the media, if she backs down or fails to file the appropriate paperwork for a recount, her reputation will be destroyed (and might take the Green Party with it).

Of note, the Green and Libertarian Parties did file for a recount in Ohio in 2004, which resulted in the jailing of two election officials there who tried to jimmy the recount (by not randomly selecting ballots).

Anything which draws attention to those election results is a plus in my book. It’s possible there were no serious miscounts, but given the Russian connection and Hillary’s lead in the popular vote, someone needs to examine those key states’ results.
