It’s just an opinion. But many of these Senators grew up with real understandings of government, civics and history. They know good from bad. That is what I really believe. They at some point in their past wanted to be good politicians.

So to me, they are going against their own values for their career expediency. You have to go through a lot of inner thought contortions to do that…to become this craven to their big money. They are humans, and evil they are, they have to have a sense they made their decision to be so.

And that leads to drinking and such. Big denial.

Some do, some don’t. Some are like Tom Cotton who grew up on Fox and have completely drunk the right wing Kool aid. He’s the scary kind; dumb as a box of rocks but a true believer in radical right wing ideology.
