They were comparing the sandblasting of Stone Mountain to the Taliban blowing up the Bamiyan Buddha.

But they lost their shit when somebody suggesting carving MLK above the other figures on Stone Mountain.

Did someone propose sandblasting Stone Mountain? As much as I detest the imagery and symbolism, I think that would go a bit too far. Just make sure that the visitors to the site are made clear about who these gentlemen were, what they fought for, and what the people who carved their images into the mountainside stood for…
