Just because the culture was worse for women (and others) in the past, does not give anyone a pass for having acted badly ‘back then’. The law may decide that the statute of limitations has passed, but people who have been wronged have no time limits when they remember how badly somebody acted. And how wrong it was and is, despite the way ‘cultural acceptance’ has changed.
