That’s true, but for me, a ‘dangerous reactionary demagogue’ is definitely someone in the “Lonesome” Rhodes category. Someone who can not only appeal to the reactionary forces still present in American culture, but can articulate that undercurrent of rage and focus it, and still maintain that “folksy” charm.
