I agree. I think a lot of his picks are advised by other people, Trump doesn’t know who to pick. He had no expectation he’d be where he is now.

One analysis I saw from TPM, and his recent picks seem to bear this out, is that Trump was disinterested and unprepared and so key players in the Koch networks have gladly step up to fill the void with guidance and names.
