For those who haven’t heard, the GOP’s “solution” to the sequester is to let it happen, but to give Obama broad authority over where the cuts are made and how.

I haven’t really looked at it, but it’s hard to believe there aren’t massive caveats to the discretion they allow. There are all kinds of Pentagon boondoggle programs the WH has been trying to cut for years, but that are politically impossible for congress to axe. I just don’t see them giving the President absolute authority to decide what stays and what goes.
