So, that’s the deal - the Speaker needs Democrats to keep DHS open. The GOP stands opposed to national security. That’s the end result of opposing funding DHS.
The GOP can play politics over the immigration position, but they can’t even proffer a bill that passes muster with the GOP led Senate, let alone their own chamber, so they’ve got nothing except shrill opposition to anything that functions.
This isn’t dysfunctional. Dysfunction suggests an attempt at function.
This is active opposition to governance.
So much for demonstrating they are a responsible governing majority.
