I feel sorry for him — he apparently was raised in a devout household, went to a Christian high school, and graduated from Oral Roberts University. He was brainwashed his entire life and wasn’t one of those who overcame this background. The most disturbing aspect to this tragedy is that his family and his fellow missionaries will probably learn nothing from his death. Just like those families with guns who treat the death of their child or family member by “accidental” discharge of their weapons as an unforeseen “Act of God” instead of a predictable outcome of their own negligence.
