It has been the party of Trump for at least twenty years, even before there was a Trump in politics. It has been a party that values nothing except hating whatever enemies it imagines, cherishing nothing except the supremacy of the rich white male. Donald Trump is just their id - a human so obscene that he says the quiet part out loud, and so they feel free to say the same.
