The gun range lead danger does seem to be a well know thing. Not to pile on to the RWNJ antipathy for regulations and enforcement of BUSINESS (from the same Seattle Times article):

The solution is to move away from lead ammo. but that would need changes in the law, both Federal and in many states. And those changes are unlikely to happen given that the issue is driven by the extremes on either side.
