Think about being born into poverty along with the other things associated with that social state. “Becoming poor” is not the same thing. Being a professional and losing your job and/or your home in foreclosure is not the same as being born into poverty. Having to cut a lot of corners and “accepting whatever job you can get” is not the same like being born into a poor family in a poor neighborhood…

This is, unfortunately, the case. Poor people can rise above it, but it takes considerable will and drive to realize that American dream, a lot more than the not-poor realize. I can’t wrap my head around what it must take to overcome those kinds of circumstances.
