Pres. Obama shares some blame for TPP as a part of this debate. If it really was/is not something to fear, and something would benefit the US economy he needed to do a better job selling it. He often said “if we don’t write the rules, the Chinese will.” But that was cold comfort for those who believe NAFTA took their jobs away.

Good point. In addition to what I’ve posted above, take a look at this article Michael Moore wrote back in July - everything he said came true! Right down to what he termed the “Brexit states” turning trump. I daresay Moore pointed out a baseline fundamental in this race that withstood everything that came afterward (pussygate, etc).
