The problem with the scenario isn’t even the dilemma it poses, but rather its sheer improbability. One shouldn’t defend a controversial policy based on extremely improbable scenarios based on action flicks.

I think SFZ put it best on that old thread.

You have to be 100% sure that the subject knows where the ticking bomb is.
That he will give up the correct info under torture.

These things are virtually impossible.

You have to be willing to accept total responsibility and consequences if you are wrong.
