You probably shouldn’t take OTC remedies since you seem to have a low tolerance for drugs. Even an overdose of aspirin can be fatal. Also, I highly recommend physical exercise as a means of combating depression; even long, brisk walks for a couple of miles can make you feel much better—start off walking for a half an hour and increase to an hour when you get used to it. It’s free and no equipment is required except a pair of sturdy trainers.
