I think the opposite is true. It’s considerably easier to gain citizenship in America than it is in Europe. It takes longer here(the US has huge backlogs due to caps) but you don’t have to get approved by local referendum (Switzerland), or have to take a test on your English language skills and knowledge of America within 3 years (Netherlands). We also have significant illegal immigration from non Latin American countries. In Boston for example we have a sizable illegal Irish population.
