I really can’t help but think that Trump has fallen prey to his “power of positive thinking” BS. You know, if he just thinks it’ll happen - it will happen. He wills it to happen.

BTW, don’t get me wrong, I’m a generally optimistic person myself. However, I know the difference between optimism and magical thinking. Trump doesn’t seem to.

steamrolling has worked for him up to now
he’s lived on lying, finagling and getting other people to spend their money so that he could live off it
he’s clearly misjudged what he’s up against
