No approval is required for Operational Test Launches such as this. Last year several Minuteman IIIs were launched from Vandenberg as part of ongoing testing.

Really? That’s not such a great idea in my book. I think the POTUS should authorize the testing of these “unarmed” MRV’d missiles. Just to keep some idjit from “test launching” an armed one!
