Nolan’s Batman trilogy are pretty big shoes to fill, if we’re gonna be honest.

Sure - let’s say some crime, or a series of crimes, occurs….something truly awful. It’s up to Batman to not only solve the crime and bring the perp to justice, but prevent the perp from carrying out some kind of pièce de résistance, some horrific masterpiece of crime.

Let’s see Batman tracking the perp down, discovering their identity; let’s see his methodology. Elements of police procedural with some action thrown in to keep the fans happy too.

What you just described, for the most part, is the plot to Burton and Keaton’s original Batman.
