Unfortunately “fiscal responsibility” to conservatives usually means no or limited social programs, most of which effect those living in poverty, women and/or children.

Breaking News: Dems don’t like to pay taxes, either, but we’re willing to pay for things that better our communities and maybe one day will be there to benefit us particularly.

I’m all for fiscal responsibility, and I think it can be done without cutting important programs.

Well first, one has define “cut” in terms of fiscal responsibility. Would you agree that social spending, if it can be made more efficient and stream-lined, can see its budget “cut” and still maintain the same level of service?
