I’m fixing black-eyed peas ‘n’ ham and jalapeno corn muffins with honey butter. Traditional southern fare for luck on New Year’s Day. Not taking any unnecessary chances.

We do the Japanese New Year meal with all the stuff symbolizing longevity, happiness, hard work and prosperity, etc. To be honest, I’d prefer a good bratwurst.
