My brother is a huge fan of Hunter S Thompson. What a whack job. And yes, I mean both my brother and Hunter. And yes, it’s not an insult.

You know, I write plays, and I attempted to write a one man play on Hunter once, hell, his wife lives up in the hills here just a few hours away.

I went through a lot of material including his wife’s short biography and when all was said an done, I really couldn’t find a coherent thread in which to tie an hour and a half of theatre together with.

I’m not saying it couldn’t be done, but, gee, what did he really have to say about anything that you could take to the bank.

After a while, I got the impression he was goofing on everyone, all the time, and really didn’t have anything to say except “fuck you all.” Doesn’t make for good theatre.
